My wife and I spent Friday night at Little Traverse Inn and had a wonderful time. The setting is beautiful, right in the middle of Lelenau, with a view of Little Traverse Lake across M22 from the outdoor patio. It is just a short drive to Glen Arbor or to Suttons Bay. After being greeted by Graeme, he showed us to our room, which was spacious and comfortable, with a view of the lake. We headed down to the bar where I enjoyed a pint drawn from the selection of firkin beers on tap, and the bartender mixed up a rum drink for my wife. We chose a table on the lawn for dinner, and enjoyed a seared scallop appetizer, and two delicious entrees (I had to try the mac and cheese, and my wife chose the fish and chips, and both were very tasty). After dinner we headed out to the casino, and when we returned at about midnight, Graeme was waiting and offered us a nightcap from the bar before we headed to bed. In the morning, after a restful sleep on a very comfortable bed, we went down to breakfast. Judy had prepared a wonderful frittata, and hand made black currant jam to spread on toast from an artisan loaf. The only down side to the whole weekend was that they were booked for Saturday, and we were not able to spend another night in this charming bed and breakfast!

After driving past it on a daily basis for most of a vacation week, we ate at Little Traverse Inn last week with some trepidation due to the bad first review below. It turns out, that review was way off base. Not only was the food good, the service decent, and the building pleasant and sunny, they had a full bar with lots of Michigan beers. There were 8 of us, including 4 kids, and everyone was happy with their meal. The entrees were good--fish & chips, toad in the hole, shepherd's pie, beef pie, bangers and mash for the kids--all good. The scotch egg appetizer with house-made sausage (same as the toad in the hole/bangers) was delicious, but the papadums were a bit stale, although the delicious chutney made up for it. The smashed peas with mint were quite good as a side to the shepherds and beef pies. Cocktails left something to be desired, but stick with beer, wine, or whiskey and you should be good--it's up north, what can you expect. Overall, a nice place. I would go there again.

Graeme and Judy are amazing and the atomosphere is pleasant. The food is really great with a UK twist. Curries, beers, meat done up with a banger... Great stuff! THIS IS THE BEST (properly poured) GUINNESS IN THE STATE. He has rugby and soccer on the tube and you feel like you can really chill and enjoy yourself while getting a great meal in. Great people, great food and GREAT BEER (scotch too!). I saw a bad review - maybe just a bad day for them. I have been there 3 times and I LOVE IT!

We had a wonderful experience tonight at Little Traverse Inn. We had a large and noisy group (and for that I apologize) but our waitress Sam was outstanding. She was attentive and nice and laughed at our dumb jokes and gave great food recommendations and got all of our food orders right and got all of our bills divvied up and did it all with a smile and efficiency. The food came so fast. I couldn't believe it. Great kitchen! Our food and drinks were all perfect. Even the wedge salads were fresh and crisp. We tried lots of appetizers, both Indian and British, and they were a hit. We all ordered a variety of foods so we could sample and there wasn't a bad one in the bunch. You really can't go wrong. I ordered a bottle of wine, scotch egg, fish pie and split a butterscotch banana split. Fantastic. We felt very welcome, like everyone in the place was a big family. The music and dancing and laughter and fun made it a very special evening. Thank you, Graeme and Sam and all of the staff, for an experience that none of us will forget.

This is a definite go to when driving up M22. When we first started coming here a few years ago we were introduced to cask beer. Now, we are obsessed. They are the only bar that we've ever been to with 3 pulls. Haven't had much experience with the food, but the menu is an interesting combination of British and Indian fare. I did have the salmon salad which was good and my husband had the chutney burger which he described as "sweet and spicy, very succulent." He loved it! We always recommend this place to people we visit in the Traverse area.

Great atmosphere. Awesome people. A great place to get food and hang out for a drink after. A great place to relax and enjoy a night.

We absolutely love this restaurant. Their service is usually very good. Their Indian dishes are divine. Even their dessert is excellent. They have live entertainment certain times of the week. We love to sit outside on a nice summer day. There are beautiful views of the lake. They often have specials on holidays that are as good as the regular menu items. It is very child friendly. I would highly recommend trying it out.

Bloody Fantastic! What a wonderful experience the Little Traverse Inn has in store for you! The proprietor, Graeme, is welcoming and has a great staff. We stayed for Valentines Day and had a charming room upstairs, cold beer and great food downstairs. We will surely be back!

Truly amazing spot with great food. This is a must visit, in terms of dining, as far as I'm concerned. So quaint and so delicious... You won't be disappointed (and if you are, it's you).

Was staying in Glen Arbor for the week and wanted something different. Hit the spot. Friendly atmosphere, owner greeted us, and had great service. Food was very good and better than I expected. Saw the review from Rob, thinking that maybe he should have eaten off the adult menu instead of ordering a hot dog. We loved our meals and will definitely be coming back.

Good lunch....adds a nice variety to area cusine. The pub keeper is Graham, a genial and friendly guy. Specialties are British dishes...I'll be back to try More of this good food! The pub is open 11-11 every day except Sunday. It offers a Sunday brunch and re-opens at 5 for Sunday dinner. A 6-bedroom B and B will open as soon as remodeling is complete.

All is well at the Little Traverse Inn and never fear M.T. of Traverse City, the liquor license is in full effect (you should retract your negative comments and be a bit more supportive of your local proprietors, or at least go back and see that they have drastically improved since your visit). Little Traverse Inn has the feel of a small country inn where you are greeted by the owner upon arrival. The menu is great! Keep in mind Scottish fare is the theme. Just in case, a burger is available if haddock and chips or shepherds pie is not your thing. As for the drinks... good selection of beer and wine and the bar is in plain sight and the bar tender is readily available. I got the impression that he would be very accommodating to even the most discerning customer. I am not aware of anyplace in Leelanau County like this and highly recommend putting it on your list of places to eat while in the area.

This gastro-pub opened in the space formerly occupied by North. The menu is a combination of traditional pub fare (Shepard's Pie, Fish & Chips), Indian favorites (Chicken Tikka Masala), and a few standard dishes (salmon). The had Toad in the Hole and the Chicken Tikka, both tasty and generous portions. Good selection of beers on tap and in bottles; good wine selection. And, at least while we were there, rugby on TV in the bar. Recommended.

Since my initial review 3 friends (and their families) have been to LT Inn for dinner and had the same (very) poor experience. These are folks who order the most basic foods on the menu and are surprised how bad it is, local farmers who know a thing or two about what fresh means, and a Brit who can vouch for authenticity of some of the more exotic fare. And since my initial post it looks like others have been recruited to override the truth. I stand by my initial review and can speak for others who do not Yelp - be forewarned about this place. Of course, I will try it one more time this summer to see if they have made any attempt at real improvement (versus recruiting people to improve their Yelp ratings).

Only ok. My Mom and I had dinner here spur of the moment on a Wednesday night at 7. We sat on the enclosed porch and give it an A for ambience and the view. She wasn't too hungry so she ordered the house salad, a sausage roll and a glass of wine. I got Toad in the Hole (bangers and mash on a Yorkshire pudding with gravy and onions poured over the top) which came with a starter salad. When my mother ordered the waitress said, " that's it?!" in kind of a snooty manner, and Mom didn't like that (lol). She said it was perfect in terms of amount of food and that it was good and rated it B to B+. My dinner was only so so....the Yorkshire pudding was flattened and tasted like cardboard, my mashed potatoes were lukewarm and one of my sausages was burned. It seemed like they prepped the plate and then just put hot gravy over the top. Mine was a B-, at best. We both had dessert; Mom a chocolate pudding (she gave it an A) and I had bread pudding (B). Again, the bread pudding tasted like it was room temp with a hot, runny sauce poured over the top. Bread pudding should have a nice, hot, thickened sauce on a warm bread. I liked the menu so I may go back and try something else at lunch time but the service was slow and the food only so so (3 stars was me being generous).

Cheers to Little Traverse Inn! They accommodated a special request, a delicious Guinness and ginger cake with a congratulations message, for my parents to celebrate my recent engagement. Everything we tried was delicious! Graham even took the time on a very busy evening to come over and provide his recommendations for single malt scotch with my father. Our waitress was a little inexperienced but still friendly and helpful. Thank you to everyone for making our visit so special!

I debated about posting a comment but my experience was so crazy I still can't believe it. Stopped in for lunch with 2 friends shortly after 12:30. We were the only ones there. 2 of us ordered the fish & chips. About 10 minutes after placing the order the waitress said our orders should be ready in 10 minutes. After 20 minutes went by she stopped by to tell us they really only had enough fish for one order. We said OK, we will just split it. Then the owner stops by to somewhat apologize but tells us they have no fish at all. We've now waited 35 minutes to be told there is no fish. How did they not know that starting out? Atmosphere was great but I won't be back.
